I got this guitar plectrum at the Atlantic Music Store here in Nuuk. Music is very important to me, and I think the plectrum is a good representation of that part of my life. My father has been playing the guitar since I was very little. He used to play all the time, and my mom would sing with him as well and they would sing together and makes the sound more beautiful. I usually play the guitar for fun and to have a good time. But I also feel it’s a certain form of therapy. Sometimes it’s easier to write a song and sing about what worries you in life than talking about it. What I like most about music is that it brings people together. When I play the guitar, other people will join in and sing along. You get this feeling of being connected to everyone, like becoming one unit in a way. I want future generations to look at this plectrum and remember this feeling of closeness and togetherness.
